Want To Work With Us?

Hello Kitsilano community!

We are currently not hiring, but Kits Beach Coffee Co. is always looking for people with barista experience and a high aptitude for all thing’s coffee, Kitsilano, and community to work at our cafe.

Just like the seasons change, we support our staff with their endeavours, shifting priorities and  we know life schedules are more than just making great coffee. Keep an eye on this page for upcoming job opportunities in the future.

Here's what you need to know:

We are looking for people with previous experience working at a high-volume café and experience making filter coffee. We do not serve espresso, so you’ll have to possess a steady hand and close attention to brewing using Hario V60, Chemex, and other filter brewers.

Beyond making coffee, we are looking for people who are outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable about Kits, Vancouver and community engagement.

A vital part of the job is to be an ambassador for Kitsilano and make locals and tourists feel at home in our community. Kits Beach Coffee Co. is rooted in corporate social responsibility through multiple community engagement programs. Our health, community, and sustainability policies fortify our company commitment to providing support, leadership, and contribution to our community of Kitsilano and specifically Kits Beach. Our green action plan, a living wage for employees, and a community dollar matching program is our cornerstone commitments. We might only be a seasonal coffee cart, but everything is an opportunity to be an integral example of how to be a good corporate citizen and neighbour. You must not only share our values and passion but be an enthusiastic advocate.

Candidate MUST possess ALL of these attributes:

  • Be available to work full-time or part-time, which primarily focus on weekends and holidays

  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Have at least up to 1 year of experience as a barista

  • Have at least at home experience making filter brewed coffee

  • Be very fast and efficient while maintaining order accuracy

  • Be mature and confident when working alone

  • Have good problem-solving skills

Please email (kitsbeachcoffee@gmail.com) your resume and a letter. Take the time to tell us about yourself, including your experiences, knowledge of specialty coffee, what community work you’ve done, and why you would like to work for us. Be sure to include the hours and days you are available to work and any other questions you may have about this position.

In keeping with Kits Beach Coffee’s values and our settler impact policy, we are grateful to live, play and work with respect to the Coast Salish territory of,selíNlwN itulh(Tsleil-Waututh), xwməθkwəyə̓ m (Musqueam) and sḵwxw̱ ú7mesh(Squamish) nations on whose traditional territory we operate and benefit from.

Our goal at Kits Beach Coffee Co. is to build a community where you can show up and feel represented and reflected. Diversity, equity and inclusion are essential components in our work, and as such, we share a responsibility for creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive community together.

That is why we enthusiastically encourage applications from our community of groups who have historically and/or are experiencing current barriers to equity.

We are looking forward to hearing from you,

James & Sarah
