Make coffee with us at Kits Beach!

 

Kits Beach Coffee has expanded and we have opened up a new cafe at 1945 Cornwall Street. Plus our seasonal coffee cart at Kits Beach will be opening early June until late September.

 

We are looking for people with barista experience and a high aptitude for all thing’s coffee, Kitsilano, and community to work with us at Kits Beach.

Previous experience working at a high-volume café and experience making filter coffee are a must. Beyond making coffee, we are looking for people who are outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable about Kits, Vancouver and community engagement.

 

A vital part of the job is to be an ambassador for Kitsilano and make locals and tourists feel at home in our community. Kits Beach Coffee is rooted in corporate social responsibility through multiple community engagement programs. Our health, community, and sustainability policies fortify our company commitment to providing support, leadership, and contribution to our community of Kitsilano and specifically Kits Beach. Job Type - Part-time and full-time Barista and Team Leader positions

Barista Candidates MUST possess ALL of these attributes:

  • Be available to work full-time or part-time at the cafe, and coffee cart

  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Have at least up to 1 year of experience as a barista

  • Have at least at home experience making filter brewed coffee

  • Be very fast and efficient while maintaining order accuracy

  • Be mature and confident when working alone

  • Have good problem-solving skills

 

Team Leader MUST possess ALL of these attributes:

In addition to the Barista experience above:

  • Have strong specialty coffee experience and are looking to take on a Management Position.

  • Ability to perform daily bar opening and closure operations.

  • At least 1 to 2 years' experience preparing and serving coffee and food in an energetic high-volume hospitality environment.

  • An eagerness to learn and grow and a willingness to contribute to our community with innovative new ideas.

  • Must be flexible with the ability to work a varied schedule each week and willing to work shifts at short notice.

 

All positions earn an equitable living wage:

  • All positions are offered an equitable wage starting at $21.52 per hour.
